The Short Version
When a fence needs repairing, not replacing
Most damaged commercial fences don't need to be pulled out. If the posts and footings are sound, the expensive part of the fence is still in the ground - and repairing around it costs a fraction of a new run.
We assess three things on site: the footings, the framework and the infill. Footings are the deciding factor. If posts are still plumb and solid, damaged mesh can be replaced, panels re-hung, top rails straightened and tension pulled back up. If footings have failed - from impact, erosion or age - that section needs rebuilding, and patching it is money wasted.
The other common job is a fence that was never wrong, just never finished properly: chainwire that has sagged because the straining assemblies were undersized, or a gate that has dropped because the gate post was the same size as the line posts. Those are fixable, and worth fixing once rather than propping up every year.
Insurance and body corporate work usually needs documentation. We photograph the damage, quote the scope clearly and can make a site safe before the full repair is approved.
When another system suits better
If a run is beyond economical repair - failed footings, corroded framework, or a system that was never right for the site - a new fence is the better spend.
