The Short Version

A boundary fence stops the site being open. A cage stops the expensive part of the site being open. Most of the enclosure work we do is inside a perimeter that already exists.
Cages get built for a specific problem: gear walking off a yard, a plant area that shouldn't be accessible to everyone on site, stock that needs to be locked but still visible, bins that keep being interfered with. The right answer depends on what's being protected and who needs to reach it.
The details that matter are the ones people skip - how the cage is fixed down on concrete or ground, whether it needs a roof or mesh lid, gate width for a pallet jack or forklift, and where the hardware sits so it can be locked properly. Mesh is chosen for what it has to resist, not just to fill the frame.
