A sports enclosure has one job that a boundary fence doesn't: it has to take repeated ball impact for years without going baggy. That comes down to how tight the mesh is strained and how well the corner and end assemblies are built.
Height is set by the sport and the surrounds - how far a ball travels, what's on the other side, and whether balls leaving the court are an inconvenience or a hazard. Courts near a road, a car park or a neighbouring property usually go higher on the ends than the sides.
Black PVC-coated mesh is the common choice on courts because it visually disappears when you're playing and looks better from outside than bare galvanised. Gates need to be wide enough for maintenance and line-marking gear, not just players, and they need hardware that keeps working after thousands of cycles.

Chainwire, almost always. Black PVC-coated mesh is the common choice because it's easier to play against visually and looks better from outside. What separates a good court fence from a poor one is the tensioning and the end and corner assemblies, not the mesh itself.
